The Geometry of Lines

I have a genuine and slightly obsessive love for geometrically straight lines.  These designers have taken that 2D slick black line into usable and functional shapes. They use these lines and forms to play with your eyes creating whimsical optical illusions.

Okay so this stair doesn’t seem very practical in any way shape or form and how Francesco Librizzi has managed to get away with it amazes me. Either way those black striking angles do look fantastic in this space and they deserve a big thumbs up for its sheer elegance.

It reminds me of our forever loved Rotring black fine liners gliding smoothly along a sheet of crisp white paper (sigh..) Excuse me while I have a little architectural nerd freak out about pens.

Calm down.. breathe.. it’s only a bunch of lines..
